Brega / Kitsch
E fa do Fabio Jr.
Conhece todas as letras, curte, quer ia ao show no cruzeiro. Tiete assumido.
Quantas vezes
No seu canto em silêncio
Você busca o meu olhar
E me fala sem palavras
Que me ama, tudo bem
Tá tudo certo
De repente você põe
A mão por dentro
E arranca o mal pela raiz
Você sabe como me fazer feliz...
E
Você já sabe
Me conhece muito bem
E eu sou capaz de ir e
Vou muito mais além
Do que você imagina...
So eu. Eu sou o unico fa dele aqui.

We went to a barbecue at a friend's house who is a big fan of Fabio Junior, a romantic brazilian singer that many people consider kitsch.
The karaoke started and most songs were Fabio Jr's.
Then my friend comes next to em and say:
- I am the only fan fabio Junior has here. Because he is kitsch, no one like him. Just look!
And sure enough, EVERYONE was singing, dancing, yealling his lyrics. I laughed my head off.

Sr Lanka ai vamos nos! Sri Lanka, here we come...

I really wanted to take my girls to Egypt. Show them the pyramids, the mummies and the giant Ramzes. But it will not be this time. The political situation there is not very appropriate for our visit, so we can wait.
tears rolling down my cheecks - for dramatic effect
But wait. There is hope for this holidays. We are going to Sri Lanka for a week. To stay in a resort. No, I don't like resorts. I prefer culture, temples, knowledge. But we are 4 - and I lost. I hate democracy. Really.
So off we go to a resort in Sri lanka. Pool and beaches all day. And Wi Fi. And books,so I do not die of boredom I enjoy the hols...
Fingers crossed

clientes, clientes... customers, customers...
Estaciona o carro, sai, tranca o carro, olha a casa, volta pro carro, dirige ate a proxima propriedade...
This week I had this great couple to show properties to. We went to 15 houses a day, so we better be very quick.
And I got myself into a rythm, since I started this job. Park the car, get out, lock it, see the house, back to the car, drive to the next...
The male part of this couple decided to make notes of every property, during our drive from one place to another.
So the rythm had to change to something like this:
Park the car, get out, lock it, get into the house, notice gentleman missing, go back outside, unlock the men who got stuck in my vehicle, go back inside the property, see the house, back to the car, drive to the next...
I don't think my feedback form will be very sharp this week.

jantarzinho / dinner party
Ligo pra confirmar o jantar e o cara me pergunta:
- 6 horas? 6:30?
quase infarto. Eu to trabalhando.
Vem as 8.
Queimei o lombo

My husband really wanted to invite a coworker and her husband to come for dinner at our place.
As he is on holiday, he thought it would be a wonderful idea to schedule it for Wednesday. No, I'm not on holiday, but who cares, right?
Trying to be as prepared as possible, I went to an imported meat distributor and bought a pork loin several days in advance.
On Friday, my maid declared herself sick and unable to work the whole coming week. She simply packed and disappeared. (And how she knew that her cold woyuld last a whole week, I have no idea).
On the Wednesday morning the house was upside down, the kitchen looked like a battlefield and we no longer knew where were our clean clothes, toothbrush or dog food.
A total disaster.
During the day, I call to confirm the dinner and the guy asks me:
- 6 pm? 6:30?
I freaked out big time. I'm working. There is NO chance I could have something ready on the table by 6:30 in the AFTERNOON.
- David, don't be crazy, you are coming to have dinner with Brazilians. Come at 8pm.
I seasoned the pork loin and 2 pm phoned Fabio to put the meat in the oven (he is on holiday, remember?)
7:50 pm we were all set. Dinner ready, table looking pretty - all good to go!
8 pm
8:15
8:30
8:45
- Let's send a text? Maybe they got lost ...
9:00
9:30 they finally arrived. I was already taking a nap in the TV room, the children were in pajamas, ready to sleep - and they would have, if it wasn't for the terrible hunger that kept them awake.
The pork was in the oven for SEVEN hours, but when they arrived I decided to put back just to warm it up. The meat was so tender, so deliciously moist, i could not wait to eat it. I turned on the top burners of the oven.
I burned the pork. And I felt sad.
Then I forgot the papaya cream in the freezer (I put it there only to cool it down a bit - 3 minutes, 5 minutes maybe)
I broke a plate
In short - the dinner was a disaster!
That's what happens when you invite friends for dinner in the middle of a working week.
PS Did I mentioned the kitchen is now officially off limits? the maid is still not back and all our china, cutellery and glasses are dirty, waiting for a miracle to happen.
I still have faith...

cabecinha suja... bad thoughts
Eu nao falei nada.
Mas pensei.
E meu cliente, nao aguentou e lascou:
- O que vc acha? Conferencia mesmo? Ou aqui eles dao outro nome pra coisa?
Eu e a minha mente poluida devolvemos:
- Conferencia sim... nem aqui nem na China. To ate imaginando as algemas e os balancos pendurados no teto...

I took a client to visit a hotel penthouse where he might want to live.
When we got there, the receptionist said we could not see the place because there was a conference going on there.
I did not say anything.
But I thought a million things.
My client could not help it:
- What do you think? Is it really a conference? Or in Bahrain they "renamed" it?
he started, i just followed:
- In my country they have orther names for it, but what do i know?? I am wondering if they use handcuffs and have swings hanging from the ceiling ...
A few hours later we got a call from the hotel:
- Our customers have left for lunch, you guys can come and have a quick look at the penthouse.
We went there straight away.
We arrived at the apartment and saw tables, chairs, white tablecloths, business brochures ...
They really had a conference going on.
We did not say a word to each other, all we could think was how dirty minded the other one was!!

********************************************************
I am tired of been "mother of", "wife of" "daughter of". I had enough of being labeled by my profession, my degrees, my jobs and a hundred of other things that are part of me but do not define who i am.
When will I be able to only be myself?
