No parque / At the park

We were at the park when a mum arrived with her lil boy. He would be no oledr than 2 years old. As sson as they arrived he declared he needed to pee.
The mother, annoyed said ina  harsh tone:
- Are you kidding me?
And the boy:
- No. I am not kidding...

A wish i could take him home.

Meu Mexicaninho / My lil Mexican

Photo: Eu e meu amor!!!

A mãe tinha dito "talvez". O Pai tinha dito "outro dia".
Esperto que só ele, ele me diz:
- Tia, vamos no parque?
- Ah meu amor, quem sabe disso é o seu pai. É ele quem manda!
- Não é não. É a mamãe quem manda. É sempre a mulher quem manda.

Chat with Joca has been one of the best things I have done in Mexico.

- Aunty, aunty, do you know your daughter's names?
...
He wanted to tell me he knew them too. Cute!

The evening I arrived, he wanted to go to an entertainment park. His mother said "maybe", his dad said "we will go another day".
Trying to recruit support to his cause he tried his luck:
- Aunty, do you want to go to the park?
- It is up to your dad Joca. He is the boss.
- No. It is up to my mum. The woman is always the boss. When your daughters grow up, they will be their husband's and sons bosses.
After that we all went to the park! No more arguments.

I was on the phone, talking to Fabio when Elder come running down the stairs.
Later he told me Joca went to call him:
- Dad, come to talk to your sister's husband on the phone.
Elder was afraid something had happened to his family. It never crossed his mind I was the sister...

- Aunty, we are going to the beach on saturday.
- Are we?
- Yes, I had a test and did very well on shapes and colors...

Deixa que eu mordo/ I will bite him

My friend suffered a huge financial blow from his business partner, who was dishonest and run away with some of his money. My friend then decided to gather his family  and explain what had happened.
He thought it was important to tell his  daughters about everything that happened with their family,he thought it was important for them to learn early, that life is not always fair and it was important to overcome obstacles, bla, bla, bla
The 4 year old daughter turns around and says, all serious:
Bring him here and i will bite him ...

What a wonderful contribution!

caso encerrado...

My friend's 4 your old son had his heart broken for the first time this week.
He came back from school devastated, because his best friend told him: I don't like you anymore...
After telling his mum what happened, he went to his bedroom, got a pic he made with the two of them playing in the park and put a big red cross across tem.
better move on...

a madrasta / the step mother...

My friend Bina is now 40, and her husband has two daughters from his first marriage. One is 35 and the other one is 26. Bina and her husband have a gorgeous lil girl who is only 2.
One day they all got together and asked me to take a pic of them. Funny as she is, Bina showed up wearing a T shirt with the step mother print.
We all laughed our head off, but the lil girl, could not get overit:
- Mummy, that's the mean one! But mummy, that's the mean one...

Unha Vietnamita / Nail Art - Vietnam

- P A N D A!
E ela nem se efz de rogada:
- Muito bem! Muito bem!!

Rolei de rir.

*************************
I could not resist and got pandas and bambus on my nails.
Khadija, the gorgeous 2 year old who lives in the house I am staying, loves it.
In her baby dialect, she says:
- babu, banda, babu, banda
One of these mornings, she pointed at my nail and I thought it was a good idea to encourage her, so i said:
- PANDA!
And she quickly reacted:
- Well done! Well done!!

She is gorgeous.

Diferenças culturais/ Cultural differences

Foto daqui

**************************************

Yesterday, reading my post, my mother recalled a story that happened in Dubai.
A friend invited us for lunch at her house and said:
My children are Emirati, they eat with their hands. Warn the girls so they do not get startled.
Anita was 7 , Lia 6.During our drive to my friend's house, I tried to prepare them:
- They are Arabs. They eat with their hands. Do not stare. Make no comment ...
We got there, the food was served, we all sat around the table. The eldest son, as he promised began to eat with his hands (he had told his mother -  this it is my house, I always eat with my hands, I will not use cutelery to please any guest).
And Anita, CONTRARY to what  SHE had promised, widened her two gorgeous blue eyes and looked mesmerized, staring at the boy. She did not even blink.
I wanted to die of embarassment. Quietly, I took her to another room where no one could hear us:
- Anita! Why are you doing this? Didn't you know he was going to eat with his hands? I asked you not to stare!
- But mom, I thought he would eat chips with his hands ... but he eats EVERYTHING with his hands, even rice ...

It was too much for her, poor thing!

**********************************

Once upon a time, there was a family that had gone through hell and back a couple of times. There was a mother, a father and two teen girls.
Out of the blue, trouble started to come their way. One of the girls got sick, a kid's fight ended up at the police station, then in court, the husband got really close to losing his job, it was a mess in that house.
Then, one by one, the problems seemed to be going away. The father and mother began to breathe a little easier. They felt a lil lighter.
They felt so relieved, the youngest daughter (who had finished her school exams, but was not on hols yet)  woke up every day, for almost a week, around 9 am and said:

- Hey! I did not go to school today!

- Sorry! We slept in ...

After months of anxiety and concern, father and mother were able to sleep. And they slept so much,  the poor child missed four days of school.

True story!

The mother gave up trying to hear the alarm clock and decided to move it to the daughter's room who needs to get up, get ready and catch the school bus all by herself ( with a lil help from the maid, I confess)...

I hope things change for the better after the school holidays. :-)

Só se fala de bullying por aqui? Is this a bullying blog?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You must think I have some kind of  complex, that I think  everyone picks on me. I can assure you, this is NOT true at all. Reading Mr Lemos blog ( sorry, Portuguese only), I got the inspiration to write about the bullying experiences i have, so I sat down and wrote eight posts. In a row.
This is another story abou my teen years and how I dealt with bullying.
We moved cities every two years and every time I came to a different school, a new town, was the same story. The kids who grew up in the same community, made fun of me.It was only natural, I guess.
In this story I was 13 years old. There was a boy who really enjoyed annoying me. Every day he had something stupid to tell me.
One day he came up with a new technique:

- Psiu, psiu ...
I would look and he would say:
- Fuck off

- Inaie, Inaie
I would look and he would say:
- Fuck off

He thought it was really funny. He would call, I would look  (why the hell did I look?) And he would say the same thing time and time again. Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck you.

I never took my issues to other people to solve, so one day i got tired of it, stood up, got the chair I was sitting on as smashed it on him. Simple as that.

Next day MY mum was in the school grounds, demanding the school did something to the boy. In her reasoning, he would try to take revenge, and being a boy, he could hurt me, so the school had to take imediate action.

Being fair, he never tried anything else and he stopped calling me names. i don't even remember him calling other girls any names. that was probably the end of his bullying career ( and my chair smashing career too, I have never repeated the performance).

I know he is now a policeman.
