My mother in law is a great artist! Her sculptures are incredible and I have been her admirer since I first saw her work, 16 years ago.
From time to time I am lucky enough to get one of her pieces as a gift, and I love it. Along with my masks, my kids and her son, they are the only "things"that travel with me from country to country.
This week she had a fabulous exhibition in Campinas and on the first evening, she sold 8 pieces and was invited to participate in another exhibition, the following week. Total success.
My daughter asked me:
- Mum, does grandma make a profit on her sales?
- She sure does, darling. Grandpa pays for the pieces to be made in bronze and all the money for the sale goes straight to her pocket.
She is not only a talented artist, she is also a wonderful economist.
Congratulations, Leya.
Oi Inaie!
