Special kids

When we had our first daughter, a friend also had a child. Unfortunatelly, her baby has hydrocephalia and never developed like  anormal child. She can not support her neck, she can no sit by herself, she has no coordination on her arms, she dos not walk.
The parents are wonderful and they try to include her in everything they do, so V ( that's how we are going to call her), is always out and about with her full time nurse and her parents.
When Anita and V were about 6 years old, we met in a party. Anita was very curious about that little girl, so different from all others, so she watched her for a long while, until she decided to aproach her mother:

- Why is your daughter like that?
- She is special, Anita. God sent her for me as a gift.

Anita dis not seem very convinced:

- Aunty, I don't think she is special, I think she is sick and if i were you, I would take her to the doctor.

I wanted to die. Die. Die. Die.

V's mother was very sweet and sensitive and told me she prefers people like Anita who are honest and straight,  because most adults avoid her child and sometimes don't even look on her direction. Anita at elast seems interested and cares.
