Arte no Mercado Velho de Manama/ Art at the Manama SOUK

Um dos meus primeiros posts nesse blog, falava de uma exibicao de arte moderna aqui no mercado antigo de Manama. Hoje, publico as fotos que tirei la.

An artist used an abandoned site in the Middle of the souk (full of trash) to hang some dolls. My interpretation of this installation is:

PEOPLE, WAKE UP! TAKE CARE OF YOUR ENVIRONMENT, OR WE WILL ALL LIVE IN THE RUBBISH WE ARE CREATING AROUND US!

Esse artista criou uma instalacao, num terreno baldio, cheio de lixo inorganico e pendurou bonecas de pano em varais sobre o lixo. A minha interpretacao dessa instalacao e :

PESSOAL, VAMOS CUIDAR DO MUNDO EM QUE VIVEMOS, SENAO VAI SOBRAR SO LIXO !!

Esse painel tinha umas latas de tinta vermelha por perto, fiquei com uma vontade doida de jogar tinta na parede...mas so joguei um pouquinho! Adoro arte interativa...

This mural had some red paint cans around it, but I only threw a little bit on the wall. I love interactive art!

Feet fetish

Alguem aqui e ligado em pes...

I was the first one to go through the men corridor (and they did not like it one bit)

Eu fui a primeira a passar pelo corredor de homens locais ( e eles nao gostaram nem um pouquinho)

But right after me, others followed

Mas logo atras vieram as outras

And after the corridor of yelling men, we found THIS!!

E depois dessa "homaiada"xingando todo mundo, nos encontramos ISSO!

And I did as I was told

Claro que eu obedeci

Another order

MAis uma ordem

And the reward. IN the Middle of the dirty, ugly streets, you can find beauty

E a recompensa! No meio das ruas feias e sujas, voce pode encontarr beleza! E so procurar

Look at all the wallets hanging from the trees. In Brazil the pick pocketers would be happy now!

Olha so as carteiras penduradas nas arvores. No Brasil os trombadinhas teriam feito a festa!

Foi um dia OTIMO!!
