We arrived In Jordan around noon. My first impression was that everything was beige and poor, but the Jordanians are super friendly, they are always laughing and trying to talk to us. Not to mention the blue, blue sky bringing us peace.
E da-lhe passagens biblicas.
Our first stop was at Mount Nebo. The view is amazing and it is "common knowledge" (Jews, Christians and Muslims) believe Moses saw the Promised Land from this Mount. Although I am not religious, I enjoyed listening to the stories.
You see that ta Oasis there? It was here that Moses struck his stick and a spring was born.
Can you see this huge area here? Moses was buried there, but nobody knows where.
Passeio maravilhoso, compania deliciosa. nao to querendo mais nada!
Mount Nebo is now private property, it was purchased by the Franciscans and is home to several mosaics that were brought from other parts of Jordan to decorate the church that sits atop the hill.
The church unfortunately can not be visited at the moment because it is being restored, but it is possible to see two huge mosaics that will be reinstalled during the restoration works.
Under the mosaics inside the church (which was discovered in 1933) were found six tombs excavated in the rock. Just amazing!
Wonderful tracks, delightful company. what else can one want?
