Mais um! Another one.

Aceitar as diferenças.

I wake up and the first thing I hear is about the massacre in Orlando. 50 people killed. Another 50 injured by a man who walked into a night club and opened fire.
His father said it was triggered by two men kissing in public a few months early. That seemed to have upset his son, who then retaliated shooting people who were out, having fun. Dancing, Laughing. Playing.
I feel sick.
I feel sick living in a world of intolerance, disrespect and false morals , where people think they are better than others. In a world where some people think they can be judge, jury and executor. When some believe they have the right to decide who lives and who dies. Where being different is a crime.
My heart is broken. Irreparably broken for living in a place where the rape victim is questioned about her clothes and behavior, where homosexuals need to constantly fear for their safety, where religious beliefs can trigger a shooter and race can determine your faith in life.
This is not the world I want to leave for my girls. This is not the world I want to live in.
When will we realize things need to change?
NOW! We need to change. We need to do something now.
What have YOU done to improve this world where we all live?
Do you recycle? Save water? Take reusable bags to the supermarket?
Well, I am afraid to say that's not enough. Not nearly enough!
We need to stand by the minorities side. Fight against discrimination, homophobia and prejudice. We need to do something - and we need to do it NOW!
